Search Control ("we," "our," or "the App") helps Shopify merchants find and fix SEO issues on their products and collections. This policy explains what the App stores, why, for how long, and how it is deleted. Search Control does not collect any customer personal data.
When you install Search Control, Shopify gives the App access to your store's product and collection information. To provide the service, the App stores:

The App does not access or store customer names, emails, addresses, orders or payment information. Billing for paid plans is handled entirely by Shopify.
Information is used only to scan your catalog, show your results, apply the fixes you choose, and let you undo them. We do not sell, rent or share your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Scans only read your store. The App changes your store only when you apply a fix, and only the SEO title, meta description and image alt text of your products and collections. Every change is recorded in your change history and can be rolled back.
The App runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Technical logs used to keep the service running are kept for 7 days.
When you uninstall Search Control, we delete your store's data, including your access credentials, scan results, score history, change history and settings. We also respond to Shopify's data deletion requests for your store. Since the App holds no customer personal data, customer data requests have nothing to return or delete.
All support requests are handled through our support page, powered by Zoho Desk: https://wombatguru.com/searchcontrol/support/. We do not expose any email addresses. Information you provide through the support form is used only to respond to your request and improve the App.
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Effective date" at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
